Skip-Week
by Roy Huggins on Sep.03, 2011, under Uncategorized
Hi everyone.
In honor of Seth being in town, we have over-committed ourselves. It looks like SNDC will be skipped this week. Sorry for the skip and for the very late update regarding it.
Pad Thai

And really, how better to pad one’s thighs than with rice noodles, sweet spices and summer vegetables? I rest my case.

Mystery meal
by CourtneySherwood on Aug.13, 2011, under Uncategorized
I haven’t quite figured out what we’ll be having when we gather at my place (1201 N.E. 21st) at noon Sunday, but I’ve got a few ideas. It may involved steamed eggplant from a recent New York Times recipe, or possibly an egg-based brunch recipe using tomatoes and basil. If you’d like to come but can’t eat any of those ingredients, let me know by about 10 a.m. and I should be able to adapt.
Farmer’s market improv
by Brian on Aug.06, 2011, under Uncategorized
We’ll go to the market tomorrow morning and see what looks good, then cook it. We’ll plan on vegetarian friendly but not vegan-friendly unless we hear otherwise.

Summer vacation for SNDC
by Mike on Jul.30, 2011, under Uncategorized
Brian and Lena are up north on a Grinnell-flavored campout, it’s Courtney’s anniversary weekend, and Ellery has moved on, so I’m declaring a summer break for SNDC tomorrow 7/31.
I will, however, be making Chris Platek’s Amazing Peanut Sauce or Amazing Veggie Pasta tomorrow night on 65th, probably around 7 or something, and anybody who wants to randomly show up will be welcome. Just give a bit of warning. Next week, Brian and Lena are due to host.

Hey folks,
It’s 2 p.m.-6 p.m. this Sunday the 24th, at 4922 N Yale St. (The calendar says 11 am to 3 pm, but it’s wrong–I tried to change it, with no success.)
Just bring your sweet selves!

Not exactly sure which recipe yet, but it’ll be one of these from delish. Probably this.
Let me know if you have any suggestions or requests! Feel free to bring drinks or snacks.

Veggie Burgers
by CourtneySherwood on Jul.10, 2011, under Uncategorized
Hi folks, sorry I’m posting so late. I can’t remember if I said that I could host at an unusual time today or not, so I’m going to stick with normal hours: noon Because people are out of town at noon, we’ll do 5 PM at my place, 1201 N.E. 21st Ave.
I’ll have veggie burgers, buns and fixings, plus carrots and hummus to chomp. And if I can successfully fire up my grill, I propose we cook them over charcoal – though the stove’s a nice backup if that doesn’t work out.
Fresh Pesto July 3rd
by Brian on Jul.01, 2011, under Uncategorized
Hey all, I’ll get some fresh basil from the farmer’s market and we can do pesto plus pasta. I think since Dan probably won’t make it due to his busy schedule, we’ll be safe to include Parmesan. If not or you are anti-pasta for some reason, please let me know in the comments. I’ll see if there are some squash or something similar that would make a good addition to the pasta and also keep an eye out for salad fixings.
