Warm Chickpea Salad
Let’s make this chickpea salad together. I’ll also provide soup, but I’m going the lazy route and buying a soup from the store. If anyone has parsley or vegetable stock for the salad, please bring it!
Things you can bring
- Vegetable stock (about 1/2 cup)
- Parsley (6 TB)
- Beverages
- Side dishes
Waffle bar redux 5/23/2010 Noon

In celebration of being tired from Mike’s move, we are going to be lazy. We’ve got waffles and/or pancakes and some bacon (plus probably lots of left over chili!). If you want to make things fancier, bring something along and the fanciness level will invariably increase.

Picnic 5/16 at NE 22nd & Killingsworth
by Mike on May.12, 2010, under Uncategorized
Change of plans! I’ve been reassigned to 22nd and Killingsworth, the SE corner of Alberta Park.
You know what I love? Bagels.

Mike loves bagels.
I don’t know who has the best bagels in Portland, but I’m going to find them and buy us an assorted dozen on which we will eat sandwiches during this weekend’s Northeast Portland Sunday Parkways. We’ll be at 22nd and Killingsworth, the SE corner of Alberta Park.
I’ll bring fake meat, fake cheese, real lettuce, real red onion, real pickles, real mustard, real Sun Chips and real green grapes. Maybe even an avocado or two. Also a knife, cutting board and some paper towels. You should bring something you like to drink, something to drink it in, and plenty of sunscreen. If you could bring a blanket and/or chairs, that might be cool, too.
I’m on my shift as an “intersection superhero” until 12:30, at which point we can decamp to the park or just sit where we are, waving at happy people.
If that sounds good, sound off!
Let’s do lunch
by CourtneySherwood on May.06, 2010, under Uncategorized
Since we’re getting together at my place (1201 N.E. 21st) at noon this Sunday and I want to test my new grill, let’s call it lunch. Veggie burgers and salad. I’ll provide the veggie burgers, these greens and other salad fixings and a bread or bun option for the burgers. I’ve got dairy cheese, and will grab some vegan cheese on Saturday evening unless someone else has extra vegan cheese already sitting around. I’ve also got onions, lettuce, ketchup and mustard for the burgers. If you’ve got other toppings you like (pickles, mayo, tomatoes, etc.) feel free to bring them. See you Sunday!
